What a real response package includes.

This page shows the structure of the 10-day EcoVadis/OEM response package end to end — how an answer is written, how its evidence is referenced, how a calculation is documented, how a data gap is disclosed, and how review status is tracked — in general terms, without impersonating a real customer's records. No proprietary prompts, decision trees, private records, or internal source code are shown.

1. HOW A QUESTION GETS ANSWERED

A typical Environment question, and how it's approached

Example question

"Provide your total Scope 1 GHG emissions for your most recently completed fiscal year and describe your calculation methodology."

How it's answered

The draft response is written in your own numbers, drawn from your own activity data and the emission factors documented for your facilities and reporting period. Every answer cites the specific evidence record(s) it came from — a numbered reference in the evidence index, not a loose claim.

2. THE CALCULATION, ALWAYS SHOWN IN FULL

Every figure traces back to activity data, a unit conversion, and a factor.

Activity data
Metered or invoiced consumption, in its original unit
Unit conversion
Converted to the standard unit the factor requires
Emission factor
Documented source, geography, and publication year
Result
Kept beside its source, factor, and conversion — never reported alone

This is the same structure described on the data-quality and traceability methodology page — applied to your own records, not a fabricated example.

3. DATA GAPS, DISCLOSED, NOT HIDDEN

When a record is incomplete or an assumption is needed, it's disclosed alongside the answer — with a named owner and, where relevant, a deadline to close it before final submission — rather than smoothed over.

4. REVIEW STATUS

Every answer carries a visible status — drafted, reviewed by the founder against its source documents, and approved — until your team reviews, approves, and submits the final response through the EcoVadis portal. OCEANS™ never submits on a manufacturer's behalf.

5. COMPACT EVIDENCE INDEX

Every record behind an answer, listed by reference.

ReferenceSource document typeScope
EV-001Utility invoice (natural gas)Scope 1
EV-002Fuel log (on-site combustion or backup generation)Scope 1
EV-003Utility billing statement (purchased electricity)Scope 2

A real engagement's evidence index also includes the source-document register, factor register, and assumptions/gaps log described on the response sprint page — built from your own documents, not the three generic categories shown here.
